 Steph and Hope clearly felt a little bit guilty about abandoning
us to our fate so they let us borrow Hope's car. Apart from the wild accusations
of damaging it whilst it was in our care, it was wonderful and allowed
us to meander over the countryside to our heart's content. As you can see,
thanks to El Niño, the hills were beautifully lush and green.
One of the places we were both particularly keen to visit was Monterey and Cannery Row. Pen and I both enjoyed Steinbeck's stories and we were certainly not disappointed, especially with the new Aquarium (about which, as you know, he wrote at length). Let's go to:
