Penelope's Playchute Palace

As well as carrying out all the decoration inside the Playchute Palace, Ms Penelope has also found time to transform the building site which previously surrounded the house into the beginnings of a lovely garden. Unfortunately, this is still very much a work in progress.

The approach to Penelope's Playchute Palace. The front garden was turfed in the Spring and the enormous posts and cross beams went in during the summer. Ultimately, the plan is for extensive lattice upon which will grow all manner of things!

As you can see, the back garden has been turfed as well. Next summer the plan is to tackle the borders and construct a rockery.

The patio has been tenderly planted out with an assortment of bits and pieces - things which grow in the cracks and things which will climb up the walls. In a few years it will be magnificent (not that it isn't pretty damn good already).

Looks like rain to me. Let's head back indoors.
