A man is recovering from surgery when the Surgical Nurse appears and asks him how he is feeling.<\/p>\n
“I’m O. K. but I didn’t like the four letter-words the doctor used in surgery,” he answered.<\/p>\n
“What did he say,” asked the nurse.<\/p>\n
“Oops!”<\/p>\n
My friends and I had joined a weight-loss organization. At one meeting the instructor held up an apple and a chocolate bar. “What are the attributes of this apple,” she asked, “and how do they relate to our diet?” “Low in calories” and “lots of fibre” were among the answers.<\/p>\n
She then detailed what was wrong with eating chocolate, and concluded, “Apples are not only more healthful but also less expensive. Do you know I paid fifty cents for this chocolate?” We stared as she held aloft the forbidden treat.<\/p>\n
From the back of the room a small voice spoke up: “I’ll give you a dollar for it.”<\/p>\n
